This year the recipient of the Heden 'Lifetime Achievement' Award is Pim Piët. The prize includes a publication and an exhibition at Heden. There is an important group of artists in The Hague which has been producing quality art for quite a long time but has not such a prominent place in the art world. A group that was of vital importance to Heden's development into the lively, contemporary and innovative art centre it is today. The biennial Heden award has especially been established for this group of artists. From the shortlist presented by Heden, this spring Anno Lampe and Lex Plompen, the independent members of the jury, declared Pim Piët the winner. A quote from the jury's report: 'He who has the abilities to renew his work after so many years of artistry rightfully deserves the Heden oeuvre award, a prize meant for artists who can boast a fine body of works, and who make you curious about things to come'. The award not only includes a solo exhibition, but also a monetary prize of € 6,000 and a publication which will be presented at the opening of the exhibition. Pim Piët will show paintings selected from the works he created during the past ten years. Heden warmly invites you to the festive opening of the exhibition of Pim Piët on Sunday 24 October between 1pm and 3pm. The opening of the exhibition at 1.30pm will be performed by art historian Ingrid van Santen.
