De gebouwen van Ko Aarts zijn afstandelijk en soms zelfs een beetje gevaarlijk. Ze ogen als abstracte vlakken die bijna de gehele horizon vullen of als vierkante koppen waarin de ramen figureren als dode ogen en zwarte poorten een geopende muil vormen die voorbijgangers naar binnen zuigt.
